She holds a doctorate in Fine Arts and a degree in Biology. She combines her artistic career with research and teaching as a lecturer in the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona, in the framework of the Serra Húnter programme, being a member of various R&D projects.
ConferencesPost-photographic speculations on intelligent algorithms, co-creation and research
We will review the Déjà-vu, Beautiful Agony, La Petit Mort, and Mnemosyne 2.0 projects that apply deep learning technologies to large image collections. Now, the camera and the human eye are being replaced by algorithms and artificial intelligence. It is necessary to think once again about the role that pictures and artistic heritage have played in building our sensibility. The artist’s notion is questioned. We find out that in those algorithmic processes, the most interesting things are the learning process itself, the failed trials, the intermediate tests, the technological unconscious, which arises from accidents, and the images we build as a collective.
